Based on the results of operation „Valmiermuižas alus” brewery increased its turnover by 55% in the third year of its operation. The last year its turnover reached 948 thousand lats, whereas in 2010 it amounted to 564 thousands of lats.
„68% increase for a beer with a high price is a considerable achievement,” says Aigars Ruņģis, the landlord of „Valmiermuižas alus” brewery. „During each of the three years of operation we have grown fast regardless of the fact that we started our activity at the culmination of the economic crisis. In my opinion our brewery's success is the result of the fact that since launching our operation we put emphasis on high quality of beer instead of low price.”
The volume of beer brewed and sold increased by 74% during the last year. In 2010 473,512 litres of unpasteurized beer were brewed. But during the last year 821,947 litres of beer were brewed and delivered to beer lovers. 94% was the light beer, 6% the dark beer, which was put on the market in April 2010.
In 2011 "Valmiermuižas alus" did especially well in the cafes, bars and restaurants (HoReCa) segment. If in 2010„Valmiermuižas alus” draught beer could be bought at 41 places of business, in 2011 they numbered already 121 places of business. As a result the volume of the sold draught beer doubled during the last year and presently constitutes 33% of the total volume of the sold beer.
„The aim of our brewery is cultivation of beer enjoyment culture in Latvia. I am satisfied that more and more restaurants and bars choose to offer their customers Valmiermuižas alus (Valmiermuiža beer) that is an excellent addition to a good meal. Therefore continuation of work in this direction is one of the priorities in 2012 as well,” continues A. Ruņģis.
The landlord of „Valmiermuižas alus” brewery mentions construction and putting into operation of the new beer cellar and commencement of export to Estonia among the most important achievements of the last year.
„Achievements of the last year make the priorities for this year. We will certainly continue to strengthen our reputation of an exceptionally good quality beer brewer and promote beer enjoyment culture. And we will work on development of export to the states of the Baltic Sea region,” says A. Ruņģis. „Regardless of the fact that we already invested 190 thousand lats and doubled the capacity of the ice-house, brewery works at full capacity for consumption on the Latvian market. Therefore for development of operation on export markets additional financing must be attracted for construction of another beer cellar.”
