The main ingredient of beer is water, so to make good beer you need good water. Then, when the owner of Valmiermuiža started looking for the most suitable place for the intended brewery, one of the main criteria was the excellent availability of water. We managed to find one in Valmiermuiža, and the brewery's new building has been built next to the 123-meter-deep well. It produces water that has filtered through the ground rocks characteristic of the Vidzeme highlands for a thousand years, so it can be said that Valmiermuiža beer can only be brewed in Valmiermuiža.
Unhurriedly brewed for special occasions, in Latvia beer has been the Master Brewer’s pride and joy since days of yore. As a measure of our respect for venerable traditions, at Valmiermuiža we brew unpasteurised beer patiently and nurture a culture of enjoying beer, so that beer enjoys a place of honour on the festive table just as it did in olden days.
